![]() Round 4 Talywain
Round 4 took us to sunny Wales where the beer and wine taste sweet and the girls.....well they just say Barrrr
Quite a few drivers took the offer of free camping at this venue and sampled the good food provided by the Alisha and the girls who had done a curry and chilly night and Alan supported that with an outstanding bar-be-cue, Maddog took the plunge and was seen in the kitchen with peppers and mushrooms flying all over the place to produce "The Maddog Risotto" The track was in fantastic condition with all the hosing and netting looking like it had been brought new just for this event and the team at Talywaine had done themselves proud many suggestions that had been made from last years event and this years Truggy Nats were done proving this to be a Club worthy of hosting a National of any class
Practice went well and as with all of the rounds this year so far was used by the drivers to get used to the track to its fullest by changing tyres during mid practice and trying to take advantage of the valuable track time, it could easily be see from the lap times who had practiced the day before leading to the question that had been raised all season "Should practice the day before be allowed" and im sure this debate will go on for a long time so until then in Rally Cross, Ben took first blood from Leigh in second with Carl taking the third place slot and with James taking 1st in Truggy with Werner taking second and Mark taking third the quest was could this be the shape of the shape of things to come Overall Practice Top 5 Buggy/Truggy Truggy

After a brief break the finals started with the Maddog coming up with a mad strategy in the E Final of not coming in to be refuelled…even after the 5 minute warm up…Mad and after a bad start fought to get back into second place only to run out of fuel 8 minutes and 30 seconds into the race leaving him in 5th place, Matt Coulthard on his own track proved that this time the Dragon was strong to take the win with Simon Lewis in 2nd and Matt Whitehead in 3rd Results from the E final
The D Final saw the Mallet himself Tim Ramsden take the final after an awful qualifying session to not only take the win but by an impressive 2 lap lead proving he should have qualified better and with John Waking taking the second place slot and the Dragon Matt with Third that was the result from the D Final
D Final results
The C Final Saw Abi take the win after what is an impressive season for her and could see her take the Driver of the Series award if she can keep her head down her consistency of her laps will make her an A Final contender soon and with Paul Webb taking the second place slot and Chris Jones 3rd that was another final completed
C Final Results
The b final saw Patrick savage produce some good lap times but had to fight hard to get to the top after a first corner pile up saw him drop to 6th place and then for 3 lap make a place per lap to get him to 3rd by lap 5 and then by lap 9 he was in second to take the lead at lap 10,Dave Griffiths of Podium-rc had a good run to finish in second and lee Baldry after a nightmare came in 3rd
B Final results
It was the A Final Main with Rallycross on first and what a final it was with Scott Francis leading from the off and not a single falter for the entire race of 20 minutes the fight behind him however was a different matter with the second and third place changing a number of times throughout the race and by lap 24 it was Young Matt Lawrence that managed to take control and settle down to take the second place slot with Richard Handscomb taking that all important 3rd place
A Final Rallycross Results
The A Final Truggy Main was the final event of the day and proved to be quite entertaining with Les Reeder using the truggy like he had stolen it and had to escape and Chris Inglis chasing him down but sadly with a technical issue Chris stayed where he was giving Les the race to freedom…well second place anyway as James was having none of it and took control from the start to win the day at Talywain in the truggy final by 1 lap
A Final Truggy Result
Many thanx has to go to the Talywain crew for a good all round weekend and to the race central team who without them we would not have such a good series
